Recently, 小豬's been absent in a lot of 100% Entertainment episodes, and a lot of people are complaining about it. I know it's sad not to be seeing him as often, but he's becoming more and more popular, so will become more busy, especially since he's recently been promoting in Japan! But I find it slightly annoying when, while complaining about missing Show, some fans also attack 蝴蝶 and 小鬼 for no apparent reason. Just because the person you want to watch isn't there, does not give you the right to bad mouth the other hosts >< I don't want some people in the fandoms causing everyone else to hate the artists either =_=

But yeah, so recently Alien and Butterfly have been hosting and although they've been schoolmates and have been hosting together for a while now.. I've never really seen them as anything closer than a brother-sister-relationship? Except...

This scene was too cute for words >< They're playing a game of angry birds, where the targets are the opposing team's heads, and Butterfly is trying to hit Alien.. but misses.. and then she runs up to him and sit opposite him, face to face XD

And again in this game, where the players are blindfolded and have to guess where the other person is after hearing them say 'I'm here', before hitting them on the head with a fan. Alien has a habit of leaning really close to the opposition when he speaks, and so Kid takes advantage of this, and sticks his head forward while Alien is leaning forward and they accidentally kiss XD When Alien takes his blindfold off, he thinks it was Butterfly.. and is shocked to learn it wasn't hahaa :P His reactions are so cute when he looked embarrassed ^^ Then afterwards he adds '我還想說親到蝴蝶還蠻好的' ;D

I'd like to finish off saying I'm still a strong 升琳 (Alien + Rainie) fan ^^ And that I believe that 豬蝶 will one day be together :D And that Rainie and Show together are pretty cute too.. Arghh.. I love all 4 of them XD

[Music] 2012 Cpop groups

Recently Taiwan seems to be having a lot of new boybands/girl groups. I'm not very familiar with them apart from seeing them more often in 100% Entertainment ^___^

I've already talked about Roomie before in a previous post, but I think my views on them have changed a bit and I'm beginning to accept their personalities. They're not really that new, and their debut album was released last August (so that's nearly a year now O__o) but I've only noticed them since they've been on variety shows a lot recently~

I think Roomie has a lot more potential to go further than previous girl groups (minus S.H.E) such as Hey Girl and Dream Girls.. hoping they'll bring more love to Taiwan groups :D

Next up, 4ever. I'm not sure whether I like them or not at this moment in time.. I dislike their main song, but I really love the song I've embedded underneath '找你的地圖' and I've waited to see 拿鐵 actually debut with a song for a long time! Missed seeing him since the BBT days~

The other members have their own style, which is pretty awesome, I'm glad they're not going for the 'Korean-boyband-style haircut'/'Pretty face' look XD Looking forward to hearing their full debut album.

Here's a Debut Teaser for Super131, which I haven't searched up much, but they're looking pretty interesting. It seems like they're strong in most things~ I really love people who can play musical instruments, so the whole group playing guitar = bonus!

I've only heard 愛別回頭 by them, but it sounds pretty good :D They look like an average boyband though, so I'm hoping they'll go more into performing with guitars ^^

Apart from new groups, what I'm looking forward to most is JPM's new album, expected to release sometime over the summer holidays ^__^ And another exciting piece of news is the S.H.E will be releasing their 'comeback' album towards the end of this year now that Selina has pretty much fully recovered!

I don't think the Cpop industry is lacking in any talent at all, in fact I think they have a lot more creativity in the lyric writing side of things! Generally most Cpop songs have more slower ballad elements in them compared to the dance styles of Kpop or even Jpop, so maybe that's a reason to why Kpop has managed to become so international while Cpop is.. well.. stuck in mainly asian communities.

[Dramas] Giving 'Alice' a chance

I've been watching Alice in Wonder City 給愛麗絲的奇蹟 (Previously known in English as Give Alice a Miracle) which I'd classify as another 'deep' drama, unlike the more common Taiwanese rom-coms. In a way, I'm glad Aaron's picking more of these types of dramas to act in, E.g. Death Girl, which I much preferred over Love Buffet, but it also means lower ratings as people don't like this style as much D:

I've been watching this on Sugoideas (which has lots of Taiwanese dramas and variety shows!) and a common opinion in the discussions is that, and I quote this: 'Considering not watching the drama because Lara is ugly and cannot act at all and her voice is annoying.', which I find really rude of everyone. I get that people can all have their own opinions, but I really dislike how people are judging her ability to act on her appearance and her voice >< Personally, I think her looks suit the character and her singing voice is amazing! And plus, it's her first drama.. so let's not expect her to be perfect!

I agree that the drama is moving slowly, but that adds to the mysterious atmosphere of this drama.. however I'm finding I'm watching it becuase of Xiu and Aaron's bromance ;P Oh, and of course the awesome music! Looking forward to seeing how this progresses ^^

Favourite cpop MV?

This is 乾杯 (Cheers) by Mayday. I think out of all the cpop MV's I've watched, I really like the filming style for most Taiwan MV's.. especially Fish's older music videos! This one's my recent favourite :)

A recent artist you discovered?
I have two; Nick Chou 周湯豪 and Alfred Hui 許廷鏗; I've heard of both of them before but didn't take much notice of them until very recently. 

I first heard of Alfred when I was in HK, and he was on TV but never really thought much about him? Then I received requests for his songs :) And Cream has recommended I listen to his album '出走三部曲' of which I really like the songs: 螞蟻、出走 and 定格.. I think his voice has lots of potential in the future, I really like his high notes :D My ultimate favourite would be 螞蟻 despite hating them in real life D: Thanks Cream ^^

I only noticed Nick recently while watching a drama called 粉愛粉愛你 where a lot of the songs in his new album were used as insert songs. I looked him up and found out that all the songs in his new album were written (both musically and lyrically) and sung by him! In his album 'S.N.G' (which stands for Super Nice Girl) my favourite songs would be: 黑洞、億萬分之一的機率 :) Oh yeah, I also really like his song 'Wake Up' from his old album ^^ That's probably my favourite song of his atm :D

A song that makes you happy?

小手拉大手 by Fish Leong

This is one of the songs I really like singing along to or just listening to when I'm in a good mood. It just makes me happy :) The atmosphere of the song, with the ukulele plucking in the background and the gentle guitar sounds as well just make this such a vibrant song. When the percussion comes in after 1min 30, and you see Fish jumping up and down in the MV, I always end up wanting to jump along XD

A song that makes you cry (sad)?

A song which I genuinely cry and feel sad when hearing is 不存在的情人.. I can't really describe why, maybe it's the piano and the strings in the music adding to the effect. Every time I listen to it I feel cold.

Another song which makes me cry every time would be 媽媽 by Vanness Wu, which is a song for his mum. It's less crying because I'm sad, and more because it makes me think about all the things my mum has done for me.

Other songs would be 乾杯 by Mayday.. it's the ending of the MV that does it.. and that's life for you ><

A song you never get tired of?


曖昧 (Ai Mei) Ambiguity by Rainie Yang 楊丞琳

The lyrics talk about the ambiguity when it comes to love, how it can lead to misunderstandings if you put too much into a relationship, or too little.

I first heard this song on a chinese radio in the car, and I really liked the melody of the song, but never thought to search it online (I was about 10 XD).. a year or two later I listened to the song a lot, but never really understood the meaning to the lyrics... I think one reason I really like this song is listening to it really shows how much I've grown in the past years ><

But back to 'never getting tired of' the song.. I think it's the melody.. it's really light, and doesn't require much to get into the music :) I think it'll be a song I'll still be listening to (albeit less) in another 5-10 years time.

Erm.. I probably should've put 'Love Hero' here? But another album I can still listen to is 'Loving You More and More 越來越愛' by Fahrenheit :) Released in January 2009.

JJ Lin 林俊傑
I don't really know what to say about him because I don't follow him much.. I just really love his music <3! Asdfgh.. His voice... is just amazing! Don't know how else to describe it, but every time I listen to it I feel like I've melted .__. He also composes a lot of songs for other singers~ A lot of them are known for their complicated, but meaningful lyrics.

I think his most notable song is '記得' (Remember), written for A Mei :) He has 2 duets with Ah Sa (Charlene 蔡卓妍）which he composed, one in cantonese and one in mandarin :) But my favourite song (more recently anyway) would be Nonexistent 不存在的情人.. I first heard it on 我愛男子漢, where a contestant performed it.. I cry every time I hear it and I don't even know why.. but yeah.. just.. a lot of emotions in the song.

Favourite album this year?

Second Round 第二人生 by Mayday 五月天 ^^ released in December 2011, it's themed around 2012 being the end of the world. Another wonderful album by Mayday! I really wanted to go to their UK concert earlier this year in March, but it was during my mock period D:

I love the song 乾杯 ('Cheers') where the lyrics describe the life of a person (and the MV too!) and.. I just really like the lyrics :) One of the songs, 洗衣機 (Washing Machine), surprised me when I read the tracklist because I wouldn't have imagined someone writing a song about a washing machine.. However, the melody is really sweet and catchy.

There are two main versions of this album where the songs are slightly different I think. The song OAOA has different lyrics depending on whether it is the 'No Where 末日' version of the album or the 'Now Here 明日' version... Just have a compare of the tracklist if you're interested -lazy- XD

Favourite album of all time?

Without doubt, my favourite album is 'Love Hero 愛&英雄' by Alien Huang 黃鴻升 ^-^ Released in December 2009, I still listen to it frequently over two years later in 2012 and I can't say that about any other album I've listened to.. :)

The songs all have a distinctive rock feel to them (different to his more recent ballad style music) and just seem really.. 小鬼-like ^^ (bias seeping out XD). I used to like '搞砸了' and ‘我不想長生不老’ most, but I think I like ‘為自己’ more now ^^ The only song I tend to skip is '懶得理你'.. :/

I didn't have much to write about these, so they may as well go into one post ^^

I don't think I have any 'least favourite artists'.. Either I've forgotten who they are, or most of the time, there are songs that I dislike >< I could go on about all my least favourite kpop groups but I love cpop too much :P

As a singer, I think Bosco is awful.. his songs sound nice, but his singing O___o At least he knows it and openly admits he hates singing anyway, so yeah he's gone back to acting :)

Hmm.. for the females.. There's this new girl group in Taiwan called 'Roomie' and they're pretty decent? They're being presented as a multi-talented group and you can see their talents, I just don't like their attitude when on 娛百 >< (It's probably 節目效果 but they're really mean to others =_=)

Favourite genre of music would probably be rock/pop ballads XD I like having a mixture of styles, so all music is good as long as the music has: a nice melody, a nice voice, and meaningful lyrics ^^ A lot of songs I listen to come from drama OSTs though :)

Just a few of my favourites :) 

保護色 by Su Yi Cheng from the drama 'KO One 終極一班'!
I love all the versions of this song, especially the piano instrumentals~~ The lyrics are so .. lyrical! I love playing this as a piano piece :D

我不會喜歡你 by Bolin Chen 陳柏霖 from the drama 'In Time With You 我可能不會愛你'
It really matches the storyline of the drama and although I didn't like it to begin with, it's grown to be one of my favourites and it's quite relatable ><

I also love the 'Black and White 痞子英雄' OST! Listen to it if you have the time, and I highly recommend that you watch the drama too!! :)

As for TVB theme songs, I love listening to all of them when the drama broadcasts, but very few stay in my mind, however over the past years there are a few that have stayed such as 請講 by Niki Chow and Kevin Cheng from 'Under the Canopy of Love' :) I really like singing that song!! And OMG, something I just remembered; 心花無限 and 心裡話 from Love Bond were my ABOSOLUTE FAVOURITES before I watched Taiwanese dramas lol XD
